What will your job look like?

We are looking for a self-motivated person with a great attitude to join us to assist in dispatching our technicians at Thompson & Thompson Service Group. We are looking for someone that is able to work remotely, on the weekends. If needed, we will provide equipment for you to work efficiently! This includes a laptop (if you do not have one), a monitor and a headset.

  • Working with customers in a professional manner.
  • Organizing and planning technician routes and service calls.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with customers and fellow employees.
  • Communicate with customers after work is completed to ensure 100% customer satisfaction
  • Respond positively to calls from customers to understand their needs and effectively schedule work orders
  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with customers and technicians

 

What do you need?

  • Ability to work 7 AM to 7 PM on Saturdays, 8 AM to 5 PM on Sundays (both with an hour lunch break).
  • Prior Dispatcher experience, preferably within the home-service industry (HVAC, Plumbing, Electric)
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience required
  • Strong communication skills - written & verbal
  • Able to multi-task, work independently, & strong organization skills
  • Familiarity with greater Savannah area
  • Thompson & Thompson Service Group may conduct a preemployment background check and drug test, subject to applicable law.

Responsibilities

Who/What Are We Looking For?

  • Coordinate the transportation movements of the technicians
  • Must keep track of the drivers’ schedules as they change throughout the day
  • Keep track of the technicians’ start and departure times
  • Must maintain a matrix with the techs’ routes, start location, specialty tools and qualifications to be able to assign the right call to the right tech
  • Requires interaction with drivers daily
  • Anticipate problems with routes and parts by making quick sound decisions
  • Respond to special requests from customers related to jobs performed by a technician
  • Order parts for special orders
  • Maintain techs’ vacation, sick and weekend schedules
  • Follow up on all pending/ recommended work
  • Forecast workload for 2-3 days out
  • Contact customers with parts pending and status of parts

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Dispatch experience highly preferred
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • High school diploma (or GED)
  • Demonstrate passion for excellence with respect to treating and caring for customers
  • Strong decision-making abilities
  • Ability to identify customer needs and clearly articulate product and service offerings
  • Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Meet all attendance and dependability requirements
  • Team player
  • Multitasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritize

  • Comfortable in navigating through multiple software systems and windows simultaneously
